It is the most populated centre on the Tigullio, rich in modern facilities always at the holidaymakers’ disposal. This makes of Rapallo a resort the whole year round, a place for an active holiday. The historic centre is rich in medieval treasures and it is fun to get lost in the many boutiques side by side some craftsmen workshops. On the sea promenade the Castle was built in 1551. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land and hosts exhibitions of different kinds; among them is the yearly International Cartoonists Exhibition. Villa Tigullio, with its gorgeous garden, houses the Lace Museum with laces, clothes and furniture, examples of the textile production in the area since the past.
